MNI Targeted Media, now Media Now Interactive
MNI built its business on one clever product: the regional edition. National titles print in geographic and demographic splits, and MNI sells those splits, putting your ad in PEOPLE or Better Homes & Gardens or FORTUNE for one metro, one state, one audience slice.[1] National masthead, regional invoice. Custom-quoted per plan; no published rates.
The rebrand, so you are not confused mid-search
MNI Targeted Media is now Media Now Interactive, and mni.com URLs 301-redirect into people.inc, following parent Dotdash Meredith's August 2025 rebrand to People Inc.[1] Same operation, new letterhead, same parent that owns the flagship titles it slices (seller profile). Older articles referencing MNI rates or offices describe a company that has been reorganized twice since; treat them as history.
How the buy works
Managed media buying: you bring a geography, an audience and a budget; the sales team returns a plan across the available splits, custom-quoted.[1] The pricing logic is intuitive even without a card: you pay for the copies in your split, at a premium per thousand over the national CPM (short-run targeting costs more per unit), which is still a fraction of the full-run invoice. Discipline is the same as any buy: audited circulation for your specific split, per Step 06, and the CPM worked on the calculator before the second call.
Fit
Regional brands that want national-masthead credibility in their trading area; multi-market advertisers matching print weight to store footprints; matched-market testers (Step 09) who need clean geographic control. If prestige is irrelevant to your buyer, price true regional titles against the same footprint first; the independent city book often wins on CPM.
