Mediabids vs MNI Targeted Media
Two sellers, two philosophies of risk. Mediabids sells response: you pay per qualifying call or lead, terms set per campaign.[1] MNI (now Media Now Interactive) sells geography: national titles sliced to your metro, custom-quoted per plan.[2] Neither publishes rates. The choice is about which risk you would rather own.
Mediabids: the marketplace
Model. Performance print: publications with unsold pages run your ad; you pay when the tracked phone rings and the call qualifies.[1]
Pricing. Per-inquiry terms negotiated per campaign; payout structures visible after registration. No rate card.
Control. Low: inventory is what opts in; position and timing float.
Risk. Capped by construction; you buy outcomes, not paper.
Best at. Call-driven offers, evergreen creative, discovering which titles pull.
MNI: the managed buy
Model. Managed buying of geo and demo editions of PEOPLE, BH&G, FORTUNE: national mastheads over your footprint.[2]
Pricing. Custom-quoted plans through a sales team; no published rates.
Control. High: you choose titles, splits, issues; position is negotiable per Step 03.
Risk. Conventional: you pay for space and own the response outcome.
Best at. Prestige-plus-geography, matched-market tests, brand campaigns with a regional footprint.
