What magazine advertising actually costs

Numbers first. Full page, national, on the one retrievable open rate card: $44,331 gross.[1] Half page: $27,710.[1] A niche national edition, RD Large Print, sells a half page for $11,700.[1] Below the national tier, published cards are close to extinct and prices surface per proposal.

The recycled figure, torn down

Search this topic and you will meet the same claim on page after page: a national full page runs $250,000 to $700,000. The chain always resolves to other blogs, never to a card. We tried to walk it back to paper and could not. What we can retrieve is the Reader's Digest kit, and it prices a national full page at $44,331 against a 1,400,000 rate base.[1] Could a September Vogue page cost multiples of that? Plausibly. But Conde Nast publishes no card, so any specific figure for it is an invention, and the desk does not print inventions. Quote-only means quote-only.

What actually moves the price

Tear sheet

A $10k-$50k quarter, spent like a buyer

Skip the full-run glossy page; at open rates the one published national card alone would eat most of the quarter.[1] Work the tiers instead: request three regional or city kits (they arrive with rates attached, even though none are public pages[4]), take a half or full page where the CPM clears your digital baseline, and leave a slice of budget for remnant offers. Then measure per Step 09 before renewing.
